We are sure you will be inspired and amazed by this young Mother’s journey from drugs to prison, and now to serving God as the Recovery Administrator at Freedom Hall, which is a faith based in-patient rehabilitation center. Take a “Walk Thru Hale” as Angie transitioned from “59691”, convicted felon, drug addict, and a woman with little to no self-worth, into Angie Pelphrey, strong and beautiful woman of God worthy to be loved. While on her journey to personal freedom, God gave Angie the opportunity to pray the prayer of salvation with 26, abused, rejected, and broken hearted women in the Scioto County Jail and the Ohio Reformatory for Women. Walk with her and her new sisters in Christ through their journeys toward personal freedom from physical, sexual, mental abuse, rejection, abandonment, low self-esteem, and low self-worth.
ADDICTION… If Angie Pelphrey didn’t have it all, she had most of it; Pastor’s wife, mother of three beautiful daughters, a career as a registered nurse, beautiful home, loving family and church family; AND THEN IT ALL FELL APART.
INCARCERATION… Addicted to drugs and now a convicted felon, she found herself sentenced to two years at the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville, Ohio for theft of drug. She thought that it was the end of everything, but what she didn’t realize is that it was her “New Beginning”. She took her freedom for granted but now she needed, wanted, and desired true freedom like a junkie needed a fix. Her “True Freedom” came when the cell door slammed.
REDEMPTION… Angie Pelphrey has been clean since November 23, 2004. After her release from prison, Angie, her husband Barry, and the congregation of New Beginnings Outreach Ministries founded Freedom Hall Recovery Center. In addition to being the “Recovery Administrator” of Freedom Hall Angie is currently on the Board of Directors at “The Pike Recovery Council” in Piketon, Ohio. She has shared her testimony at local high schools, juvenile detention centers, church’s, AA/NA meetings, Southern Ohio Correctional Facility (Maximum Security Prison for men in Lucasville, Ohio) and at the Ohio Reformatory for Women. She continues working on her recovery daily with the help and hope of Jesus Christ. Angie and her husband Barry (Pastor of New Beginnings Outreach Ministries Church); reside in Waverly, Ohio with their three beautiful daughters, Kayla, Tori, and Aleah.
